The background image is made up of repeated copies of two symbols commonly used in musical notation; a treble clef and a bass clef.

Only the outlines of the symbols are visible, and the outlines are coloured such that it looks like the symbols are infact embossed into the background - as if you could reach out and feel them, as if you could feel around their edges.

The images are very low contrast compared to the rest of the page, closely matching the otherwise dominant slightly pink tinted background colour. The hint of pink, a traditionally feminine colour, is relatively slight, to avoid being too cliched.
