    Ah, so you've landed here.  Well, I hope you enjoy what you find.  Below follow a few links to radio stations, radio station databases and media news pages that I find interesting.  


Now, what radio station would you like to listen to?? A list of links with 75 choices follows:

 

  1. About Radio (An interesting radio-related site)
  2. ACB Radio Cafe (featuring the best music from blind musicians)
  3. ACB Radio Interactive (a station featuring blind djs playing a varied selection of music.  When not live there is an automated service which can also take requests from a play list.)
  4. ACB Radio Mainstream (a station catering to the needs of the blind.)
  5.  ACB Radio Treasure Trove (featuring the best of old-time radio.)
  6. Allcast (a streaming system for radio stations - you need to download the plugin from the Allcast site.)
  7. BBC (The BBC have greatly improved the quality of their player.  It is much more user-friendly than befrore.)
  8. BBC Vorbis Tests (Live streams of BBC Radio 1, 6 Music and Radio 4.  Also various on demand programmes available.)
  9. Bill Sparks  (a large database of online radio and tv stations, well worth a look.)
  10. Blind Radio (A database set up specifically for the visually impaired)
  11. Blind Tuner (A list of American stations by State.) 
  12. Broadcast.com (A site relating to radio and other broadcast areas run by Yahoo.)
  13. CBC News Audio (list of Canadian streaming stations (including regional ones,) near bottom of page.  
  14. Clandestine Radio (A useful resource for news of and about clandestine radio stations.)
  15. Classical Web Casts (Good for listening to classical music on the web)
  16. Cyber Radio 2000 )stations listed by genre.)
  17. DRM Schedule (A schedule of all short and medium wave stations broadcasting in digital radio mondial (a digital transmission mode.))
  18. Federal News Radio (A station dealing with US Federal issues, plus Associated Press live feed.)
  19. Find Radio (A list of US and Canadian am and fm stations.  This site also contains maps.)
  20. Icecast (Another database of streaming stations by genre.)
  21. IM Network (you need to download the Sonic Box tuner for this service, but well worth it.)
  22. International Listener (Another website for shortwave listeners but also with links to British radio stations available on the Internet)
  23. Interval Signals (a database of radio station interval signals past and present.)
  24. Internet Radio List (a comprehensive listing by genre and country.) 
  25. Internet Radio Index (An index of internet radio stations, mainly Real Audio and Windows Mediaplayer, but with a database of downloadable programs for other streaming media types.)
  26. Jet Audio (An interesting collection of stations, some broadcasting irregularly.  For a list of stations click on the jet cast directory link.) 
  27. Live 365 (featuring a host of internet stations playing every type of music you can think of.)
  28. Live Radio (Featuring live web radio and tv)
  29. Livecast UK (an organisation providing hosting to UK internet broadcasters.  Their packages include full royalty payments.)
  30. Live Stream America (Radio programmes available for listening and download (in real audio format.))  
  31. Lycos Music Radio (database of internet music stations (Windows Media Player required.))
  32. Media Network (a page of media news produced by Radio Netherlands.)
  33. Media Network Weblog (current interesting media stories, updated almost daily.)
  34. Media Radio (Primarily deals with pirate, pop and country stations)
  35. Mediascan (a page of 
  36. media news produced by Radio Sweden.)
  37. Mediasound (A station relaying the best of internet radio and other stations)
  38. Microsoft Worldwide Radio Network (need Microsoft passport to access stations.) 
  39. Mike's Radio World (Database of streaming stations and other interesting features.)
  40. N2JU Amateur Radio Site (a fully remotely tuneable Icom R75 amateur receiver.) (This site is not always available.)
  41. National Public Radio (Non-commercial American service featuring a country-wide network of stations.  You can search the site for a station.)
  42. Penguin Radio (another large database of stations, both internet and free to air.)
  43. Pirate Radio Network (Various pirate and internet radio stations (uses an embedded player called Clipstream.))
  44. Public Radio Fan (One of the best places to find details of public radio programmes.)
  45. Radio Air check Museum (If you remember top 40 radio, then you're going to love this site.)
  46. Radioclicks (a large database of world streaming radio stations listed by country.)
  47. Radio Locator (MIT's large database of radio stations, both broadcast stations websites and internet.)
  48. Radio, the way it used to be (Clips from shortwave radio stations from the "golden" era - the 1960s)
  49. Radiofax Website modeled on the legendry Radiofax shortwave station that was around in the early 1990s.)
  50. Radio Storm (Another list of stations by genre.)
  51. Radio Tower (Another searchable database of stations.  The dropdown menus can be a little tricky for screen-reading software for visually impaired people, however there are text links on the page)
  52. Radio Frequency Noises (If you've ever come across a strange noise on shortwave and wondered what it might be, then this is the site for you.  There are mp3 files of various noises with explanations) 
  53. Radio and Internet News (RAIN) (A website for the RAIN magazine)
  54. Shoutcast (A list of stations using the Shoutcast plugin)
  55. Sirius Sattellite Radio (music channels available on the Internet - high speed connection needed)
  56. Sonic Network (A site containing links to Internet stations as well as commercial material.)
  57. Spam Radio (Get a good laugh out of spam.)
  58. Sunspot Radio (an Internet station dealing with computer-related matters.)
  59. Sunset Radio (featuring many of the world's radio stations listed by country.)
  60. Total Rock (don't be put off by the shockwave front page.)
  61. Transom (A website highlighting new and innovative radio programme-making)
  62. TV & Radio world (This site lists not only radio stations but also tv.  Not all stations listed broadcast on the internet)
  63. UK Audio Network (an audio site especially for visually impaired surfers)
  64. UK Radio (Site run by NTL giving news of UK radio stations both dab and analologue.).
  65. UK Radio Feeds (A good site for UK's stations streaming on the internet.)
  66. Ultra Radio (This site can provide shoutcast streaming should you want to start your own radio station.)
  67. Virtual Tuner (another radio station database site.)
  68. Vtuner (another virtual tuner radio database site.)
  69. Voice of America Music Mix (Link to live stream near top of page.)
  70. Voice of America News Now (Rolling news service 24 hours a day)
  71. WARP Radio (An interesting collection of streaming internet and off-air stations.).)
  72. Web Radio FM (database of stations both on air and internet only, and other radio related bits and pieces.)
  73. Wi-Fi TV (A comprehensive list of tv stations viewable on the internet - unfortunately not all links seem to work all the time.)
  74. World of Radio website (Glen Hauser's site containing much that is interesting to the serious shortwave listener including DX Listening Digest and his weekly "World of Radio" programme)
  75. World Radio Network (taking programmes from international radio stations.)
